The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program offers funding to outstanding postdoctoral candidates, both from Canada and abroad, who will contribute to the country’s economic, social, and research growth.
The goals of the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program are to:

Eligibility Requirements for the Canada Banting Fellowship Program
To be eligible for the Canada Banting Fellowship Program, you must:
- Be a domestic student, a permanent resident, or an international applicant.
- Have completed all requirements for a PhD, a PhD-equivalent, or a health professional degree between September 15, 2021, and September 30, 2025 (inclusive), and before the start date of the fellowship.
- If you have not completed all degree requirements at the time of your application, you must provide proof of completion by October 15, 2025.
For those who have earned more than one PhD, PhD-equivalent, or health professional degree, the eligibility period applies to the most recent degree.
