The Western University National Scholarships aim to acknowledge well-rounded excellence.
These scholarships are given to candidates who show exceptional academic performance, creative thinking, and a strong passion for learning. The National Scholarships also celebrate notable achievements in extracurricular activities, including the arts and sports.
Particular attention is given to a candidate’s dedication to community service through active involvement in school and community activities.
Requirements for Canada National Undergraduate Scholarship 2025
To be eligible for the Canada National Undergraduate Scholarship, you must:
- Be an international student, Canadian citizen, or permanent resident.
- Achieve a minimum overall academic average of 90% in all Grade 12U/M courses (or equivalent).
- Submit an admission application to Western University (main campus) and register as a full-time student.
- International Baccalaureate and CEGEP students are also eligible for consideration.
Benefits of Canada National Scholarship 2025
The scholarships awards are divided into several categories:

Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship: One award of $80,000, distributed as $20,000 per year for four years.

President’s Entrance Scholarships:
- One award of $70,000 ($25,000 for the first year, $15,000 for each of the next three years).
- Four awards of $65,000 ($20,000 for the first year, $15,000 for each of the next three years).
- Up to 15 awards of $50,000 ($20,000 for the first year, $10,000 for each of the next three years).

James Jenkins President’s Entrance Scholarship for the Black Students: Five awards of $50,000 ($20,000 for the first year, $10,000 for each of the next three years).

Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship: One award of $92,000, given as $23,000 per year for four years.

Neen Hodgins President’s International Entrance Scholarship: One award of up to $80,000, distributed as $20,000 per year for four years.

International President’s Entrance Scholarships: Three awards of $100,000.

Faculty Entrance Scholarships: Up to 15 awards of $30,000 ($12,000 for the first year, $6,000 for each of the next three years).

National Scholarship Study Abroad Awards: Up to 46 awards of $2,500 for up to four months (one term) and $5,000 for over four months (more than one term).
Required Documents for Canada National Undergraduate Scholarship
To complete your application for the National Scholarship, you’ll need the following documents:
- Online National Scholarship Application
- School Nomination
- Essay
- Transcript (to be provided by your school)
- Reference Letter (from a school representative)
- Supplemental Application: This is needed in addition to the National Scholarship Application if you want to be considered for the Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Award and the Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship.
